Adopt A Giraffe

Giraffes are under threat, both in captivity and in the wild. Wild giraffes have been extensively hunted for their meat, but today their main threat is loss of habitat. Wild giraffes live complex lives and roam large expanses, so being confined to small enclosures can lead to extreme frustration and boredom.

Adopting a giraffe helps support us in preventing their mistreatment and endangerment. Habitat loss has led to their population decreasing by 40% in the last three decades. With less than 100,000 giraffe remaining in the wild, it’s important that we help save their habitat for generations to come.

We work to stop giraffe from losing their habitat as a result of climate change by preventing crop loss and mitigating local climate change. We carry out de-snaring patrols to protect wild giraffe, work with local communities in Kenya to protect wildlife, and campaign to prevent giraffes from being kept in captivity.

You can choose either a physical adoption pack, which you will receive in the post and comes with an optional soft toy. Alternatively, you can opt for a digital adoption pack where 33% more of your adoption fee can go towards our vital work (compared to a physical adoption), and this would be received via email. Both types of adoption pack feature a personalised adoption certificate.
