WHY ADOPT A CHEETAH?
Adopting a cheetah helps to fund the lifetime care of Born Free’s Cheetah Family at our Ensessa Kotteh (which means ‘animal footprint’ in Amharic) sanctuary in Ethiopia. These cheetah have all been rescued from the illegal wildlife trade, and in most cases were snatched from their mothers at such a young age that they never had the chance to acquire the skills needed to live in the wild.
At Ensessa Kotteh, we also operate an education programme with centre-based learning for schools, nature clubs, colleges and universities.
As well as caring for the cheetah family, your adoption allows us to continue to campaign to end the wildlife pet trade and conserve the habitat of cheetahs in the wild.
ADOPTING A CHEETAH AS A GIFT?

If you gift someone a physical adoption, they will receive printed copies of Born Free’s My Adopt magazine twice a year; if you choose a digital adoption, digital copies will be sent to you.
