Today, on International Tiger Day (29th July), we’re excited to be celebrating the biggest of the big cats in partnership with Harper Collins Children’s Books.

We’re offering Born Free supporters the chance to win a one-year tiger adoption, and be one of the first people to receive a copy of the beautiful new illustrated children’s picture book, The Kingdom of Tigers.

Competition image - win a tiger adoption and picture bookWritten by debut author Felicity Yeoh and illustrated by Megan Snyders, The Kingdom of Tigers tells the story of a tiger and her cub, finding their home in the wild.

Hari and his mother live in the jungle. As deforestation threatens their home, they dream of roaming the Kingdom of Tigers, a place where they can be free and have room to roar. When they become separated, Hari must brave the wild with the friends he meets along the way, to return to his mother and find the sanctuary he dreams of.

The themes of the book resonate strongly with Born Free’s work to protect wild tigers – from loss of habitat to exploitation in captivity – while beautifully exploring themes of family, friendship and home.

Felicity Yeoh has a personal connection to the plight of Malaysia’s endangered harimau tigers, as the London-based author visits family in Singapore and Malaysia every year.
