Born Free has cautiously welcomed the news that leading holiday operator Thomas Cook is to stop selling tickets to facilities keeping orca in captivity. This includes the controversial SeaWorld parks and Loro Parque in Tenerife.

Born Free has welcomed the UK Wildlife Crime Policing Strategy for 2018-2021. The strategy, which has been endorsed by the National Police Chiefs’ Council and Police and Crime Commissioners, emphasises the importance of tackling wildlife crime in the UK, in order to protect biodiversity, conserve wild species, and improve animal welfare, for the sake of wildlife and the health and well-being of people.
