WILDLIFE MARKETS: TAKE ACTION

Born Free firmly believes the commercial trade in wild animals must be curbed, and that wildlife markets, particularly those dealing in live animals, must close.

The coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating impact on people’s lives, and the cost to the global economy will be astronomical.

The coronavirus that leads to the human disease covid-19 is believed to have spread to people from wild animals, in a wildlife market in China.

Global action to permanently curb the commercial trade will help to significantly reduce the risks of future infectious disease epidemics among both wildlife and people, and go some way to addressing the threat posed to individual animals and wider biodiversity through direct exploitation.

Please join us in calling for an end to the commercial exploitation of wild animals for trade, and for the closure of markets that trade in wild animals.
