PAST EVENT: WILDLIFE HEROES - AN EVENING OF THANKS

Eighty guests gathered at London’s Hari Hotel on Monday 18th March, to recognise the achievements of Born Free’s Wildlife Heroes.

Born Free CEO Howard Jones opened the evening with a speech summarising the year-long Wildlife Heroes campaign, and thanking the individuals for their dedication to compassionate conservation.

Special guests including James Lewis, Dan Richardson and Lauren St John mingled with supporters and some of the real life ‘heroes’ who had flown over to the UK for the occasion.
From Zambia, Project Manager for the Zambia Primate Project, Cosmas Mumba, joined Isaac Banda Executive Officer of the Mnkhanya Community Resources Board, and Born Free’s Special Advisor Dr Cheryl Mvula MBE, to talk about their inspirational work.

Born Free’s artist in residence, illustrator and children’s author, Ed Vere, spoke about his recent fact-finding trip to Kenya, where he spent time visiting projects, meeting local children, and sketching wildlife in preparation for a new book he will create later this year, in collaboration with Born Free.

Guests enjoyed delicious food prepared by chefs from Il Pampero, The Hari’s Italian restaurant.
