THE SLEEPING LION BY LAUREN St JOHN

Original medium: Oil

52 x 43 cms (framed reproduction)

£330 (includes VAT, framing and UK delivery)

Lauren St John grew up on a farm and game reserve in Zimbabwe, where she painted murals on every outbuilding and hundreds of horse pictures. After winning the National Junior Painting Prize at 16, she spent a few weeks at the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town, before spontaneously moving to the UK to become a pop singer or veterinary nurse. In fact, she ended up becoming the golf correspondent to the Sunday Times and, later, an award winning children’s author. She has continued to paint, with the Cornish landscape around St Ives, and her passion for conservation, a constant inspiration.

An oil painting of a sleeping male lion. Just head, paws and main are in the frame.
