All commercial transactions are handled for Born Free by Born Free Trading Limited, a wholly-owned trading subsidiary. Maximum profits are covenanted to the charity annually.
Making a purchase or a payment could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept all major credit cards (with the exception of American Express) and PayPal. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US dollars or your own currency.
Direct debit payments for adoptions, memberships and donations are only available to UK bank account holders and will continue until stopped.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
We process and send your order within three working days and we would normally expect it to arrive within seven working days. Please note, we cannot hold orders for delivery on a specific date.
All orders are sent second class delivery.
Are you a UK taxpayer? If you are, did you know that every £1 you give could be worth £1.25 to us, at no cost to you. To gift aid your support, tick the box below the checkout and we will send you the relevant form.
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are not held in clear text on any website.
Subject to your right to cancel the contract within seven working days, we will only accept the return of items if they are faulty, have been sent to you in error or if you are unhappy with a substitution. If you are returning an item because it is faulty or because of an error on our part, we will be happy to refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and your costs in returning it to us.
We hope that all the animals we rescue and help will have a long and rich life. If your purchase is an adoption and your adopted animal passes away, we will offer you an alternative animal to adopt in their place.
For the avoidance of doubt, this contract shall be deemed to have been concluded in England and shall be governed by English law. Both you and the Born Free Trading irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Your statutory rights are unaffected by these terms and conditions.
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm
Your support will help fund our work to protect animals worldwide.
Recycle your electrical and electronic devices free at your local recycling centre. To find your nearest centre, visit the Recycle More website and type in your postcode.
1) Why recycle?
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health. We’re proud to support your local authority in providing local recycling facilities for electrical equipment.
To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin.
2) What is WEEE?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.
3) How are we helping?
In the UK, distributors, including retailers, must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us by financially supporting the national network of WEEE recycling centres established by local authorities. This is achieved through membership of the national distributor take-back scheme (DTS).
To find more information on WEEE recycling and to locate your nearest recycling centre, please visit the Recycle More website.
