Born Free has today welcomed the announcement by Expedia Inc. outlining the travel company’s new policy, saying it will ‘identify and remove tours and attractions where participants interact with wildlife’.
Daniel Turner, Associate Director for Tourism at Born Free, said “Expedia’s decision shows real leadership by one of the travel industry’s most influential players.”

Born Free has been working with travel businesses for over 10 years, championing the need for greater respect for animals used in tourism activities. The announcement by Expedia Inc. is testament to the importance of this constructive engagement with the travel sector which promotes higher animal welfare standards and an end to practices that are known to severely compromise the welfare and survival of animals.
