Sandro was rescued from a zoo in Spain, and has been rehabilitating in a temporary home with our friends at Natuurhulpcentrum, in Belgium. But we have just been able to move him to his new lifetime home at a wildlife sanctuary in Italy. With your help, we can give regal Sandro loving care for life.
Please donate today so that Sandro, The Real Tiger King, can take up his crown.
New research by Born Free has revealed nearly 4,000 dangerous wild animals are being kept privately, and legally, under licence in Great Britain under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976, including at least 320 wild cats, 274 primates and 508 venomous snakes.
With exotic pets on the rise in Britain, you could be living next door to some of the world’s deadliest creatures.
As part of our campaign on this issue we've launched a new petition, in collaboration with the RSPCA, calling on the Government to review and reform laws on the private keeping of Dangerous Wild Animals.
Our wildlife rescue, conservation and education centre in Ethiopia, Ensessa Kotteh, is home to more than 150 animals including lions, cheetah, hyena and primates.
As the only centre of its kind in Ethiopia, Ensessa Kotteh is on the frontline of the fight against the brutal illegal wildlife trade, and provides sanctuary for confiscated animals, as well as those found abandoned, orphaned or injured.
You can help us rescue and care for wild animals in Ethiopia.
Calling all parents, grandparents, guardians, homeschoolers and teachers!
We have launched our first Youth Wildlife Filmmaker of the Year competition, open to UK children under the age of 16. We’re looking for photo stories or films that showcase wildlife living free in the UK, local conservation efforts or a local environmental issue.
A stunning collection of wild lion photography by critically-acclaimed wildlife photographer George Logan. Lion: Pride Before the Fall brings the plight of Africa's remaining lions into sharp focus with its array of poignant, thought-provoking images.
Each copy sold helps Born Free in its vital work to protect and re-establish The Last Lions of Meru, in Kenya.
COVID-19 has transformed our world. We’ve had to radically change how we live to save lives. But, this is just a short-term fix.
Unless we change our ways, another pandemic will happen again. As an essential first step, wildlife markets must close. We must learn. We must re-educate ourselves. We must act. Watch our new short film to find out why when we protect them all, we protect ourselves.
We’re an animal charity that’s passionate about wild animal welfare and Compassionate Conservation. Founded by Virginia McKenna, Will Travers and Bill Travers, we work tirelessly to stop the exploitation and suffering of individual animals living in captivity or in the wild. From the start we’ve campaigned for a future where animals and people can co-exist and where threatened and endangered species are protected for generations to come.
We're here to help. We have a range of free educational resources to help your child learn about the natural world from home.
Check out our set of four wildlife homeschooling packs and a whole host of exciting and educational games, videos and activities for children.
