Our partners at Lazy Lions   have generously sponsored one of the lion cub sculptures featured in our Born Free Forever exhibition at London's Millennium Green!

Their incredible donation of £10,000 will provide one year’s specialist, loving care for two lions, Louga and Angela, who were rescued from a circus in France, and will shortly be arriving at their forever home at our Big Cat Sanctuary in South Africa. Louga is also represented with a sculpture in the Born Free Forever exhibition, you can read his story here.

Lazy Lions have partnered with Born Free during our 'Year of the Lion' - a year of action for big cats! Lazy Lions is a limited collection of programmatically generated non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Each Lazy Lion is unique - just like real lions! They are generated from over 160 possible traits, including clothing, mane, expression, and more. Find out more about them here.

Lazy Lions say: "For us, we see ourselves as lions (literally!) and the fact that there are now fewer than 20,000 remaining in the wild is a troubling fact. After learning about The Born Free Foundation and the work they do to help rescue and care for them, we had to support this mission."

Karen Botha, Born Free's Managing Director, said:

"Born Free is proud to partner with Lazy Lions for the Born Free Forever exhibition.  The exhibition is currently in London’s Millennium Green, and moving on to Newcastle and around the UK from April.  The generosity of the Lazy Lion’s NFT community will also fund Lifetime Care for two of our Lions of Lockdown, who are currently waiting for their transfer back to their ancestral homeland in Africa, after years in captivity.  Lazy Lions’ support is critical to the ongoing journey to provide these lions with the Forever Home they deserve."
