Pride of Cape Town
A spectacular life-size lion statue set off on a 6,000 mile adventure from London to Cape Town to become part of ‘Pride of Cape Town’, a major public art event in South Africa’s, to be hosted at the popular and scenic tourist destination, V&A Waterfront, in Cape Town.
The magnificent lion was flown out of London Heathrow on South African Airways, the country’s national airline and one of Africa’s leading carriers.
“South African Airways is delighted to carry the lion statue down to Cape Town. We are proud to be associated with the Born Free Foundation and support their fantastic work in Southern Africa and around the world. We wish the Pride of Cape Town every success”, commented Gary Kershaw, Country Manager UK& Ireland for South African Airways.
