Born Free is opposed to the keeping of elephants in zoos and circuses, and we have repeatedly called for a phase-out of elephants from zoos in the UK and the introduction of protected contact management (where keepers and elephants do not share the same space) in the meantime.

We await further details of the allegations and will keep you updated. In the meantime, please check out our Zoo Check campaign
