Born Free Foundation - Keep Wildlife in the Wild

Wild Thing Wine

We are delighted to announce that Vintage Roots has just been named
Green Retailer of the Year at the Drinks Business Green Awards 2015

We are delighted that our 'Wild Thing' wine is selling well! 'Wild Thing' has been developed for Born Free by Vintage Roots, the UK’s leading organic wine wholesaler and mail order company. The name and label have been specially chosen to reflect how the wine is not only there to be enjoyed, but also to raise funds for wildlife.

"The name Wild Thing so perfectly reflects the wines organic origins and the company's concern for the environment and wildlife. We are thrilled that Wild Thing is to be sold in aid of Born Free to directly benefit conservation and animal welfare. I believe it fully deserves to be one of the most sought after and popular new organic wines of the year," said Virginia McKenna OBE, Founder of Born Free.

The range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Rosé and the new Prosecco as well as two, six and twelve bottle mixed cases.

'Wild Thing' is available now at selected retailers. Download a list here or visit Vintage Roots’ order website. Alternatively, contact Vintage Roots on 0118 932 6566 for more details.

Summer Rose

Vintage roots have been so pleased with sales of the Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot launched last year that they have added a tasty rosé (pictured) to the range - perfect for summer nights. Just £7.75 a bottle, including a donation to Born Free.

Prosecco

Vintage Roots have now developed an exciting new edition to the 'Wild Thing' wine range… the 'Wild Thing' Prosecco! This is the perfect easy drinking sparkling wine, full of fun and fizz, and conveniently comes in a ‘fliptop’ bottle so it can be resealed for further enjoyment later! This delicious Prosecco is available for just £9.99 and can be purchased from the Vintage Roots website.

‘The Wild Thing wine has been selling like wild fire and literally going down a storm. It’s brilliant to have a Prosecco to add to the unique range that is helping our work with wildlife everywhere, cheers,’
Will Travers, CEO The Born Free Foundation

Wild Thing Competition Winner

Inspired by director Neil Palmer’s ascent of Mount Kenya last year and the placing of a Wild Thing label on its summit pole, Vintage Roots recently launched a photo competition inviting all to send them their best photo shots of Wild Thing in far flung locations around the world. The competition was won in style by Susan and Derek Rankine from Scotland who sent in their snap all the way from the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre in Malawi. The pair took the photo whilst volunteering at the centre in May.

Will Travers OBE, CEO of the Born Free Foundation said 'The ever supportive Rankine family have pulled it off again, taking Wild Thing wine to Malawi, truly wild supporters, well done'.

Congratulations to them and to all the entrants who took part!
