FOOTBALL LEGEND LAUNCHES NEW RANGE TO HELP TIGERS

Football legend Jimmy Greaves was in Chesterfield to launch the latest additions, handy bag size chocolates, to the Tiger J’s Chocolates range, which is helping Born Free Foundation to save tigers from extinction.

The Tiger J’s brand has been developed by Derbyshire businesswoman Janet Coghlan, who was attacked by a Bengal tiger in the 1970s, with a percentage from each sale being donated to the Born Free Foundation. Former England star Greaves, who has invested in Tiger J’s, said: “I know things are hard for humans at the moment but we do need to look after our wildlife as well because sadly there has been a lot of abuse over the years. “We’ve suddenly come to realise that all creatures on this earth are valuable and need to be protected if they can’t protect themselves. That’s why we got together with the Born Free Foundation, who do an incredible job.Janet Coghlan, 45, is keen to promote the welfare of tigers after being mauled by a Bengal tiger at the age of 12 while helping out at a zoo in her native north-east. She required plastic surgery after the attack and had around 300 stitches in her face and head.“I feel really strongly that the attack was due to the environment the tiger was kept in,” said Janet. “I pleaded for her to be saved but she was destroyed. It’s always stuck with me that it wasn’t her fault.
