Four smokers determined to get healthier are embarking on a unique charity challenge in aid of the Born Free Foundation – and are relying on the help of the leading electronic cigarette manufacturer, E-Lites.

On October 1st 2011, Joanne White and three of her colleagues bravely started their ‘Born Smoke-Free’ campaign and gave up smoking to raise money for the Horsham based charity.

For six months, the team who work for Global Plantations, which invests and promotes responsible investment opportunities that support sustainable economic development, will pack in their fags in a bid to raise money for the charity which supports wildlife.

As a replacement, they will be offered smoke-free E-Lites electronic cigarettes to help satisfy their nicotine cravings in a way that is significantly healthier than tobacco cigarettes, as well as being unrestricted for use in public places.

In addition to receiving sponsorship from family and friends, the group will also place their daily cigarette money into a kitty, which they will donate to the Born Free Foundation at the end of the challenge.

E-Lites, which provides smokers with an alternative to traditional cigarettes without the most harmful ingredients, such as tobacco, tar and added chemicals, were honoured to be able to sponsor the team for their challenge.

Joanne White said: “It’s fantastic that E-Lites has agreed to sponsor us. We’re all really hopeful we’ll complete the challenge successfully and that we should raise a really impressive amount for the Born Free Foundation. It’s great that we can also raise awareness of the great alternative that E-Lites offers to smokers who can’t give up their nicotine habit."

“I’m expecting my first grandchild early next year, so my motivation to give up is really important. I’m sure the support from E-Lites will give me that extra little push to stop smoking.”

Elites co-director Dermot Ryan said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Joanne and her colleagues on this enduring challenge and of course to help raise money for a fantastic charity – the Born Free Foundation. We’re always being contacted by people who have smoked tobacco cigarettes for many years, in some cases, and are now pursuing a new lifestyle by switching to electronic cigarettes. We wish them all the very best of luck.”

Born Free receives a donation from E-lites with every pack sold through this page.
