When Cecil the lion was killed his death made headlines around the world.

One Gloucestershire artist felt so distraught that she had to put paintbrush to canvas and in so doing produced a magnificent portrait of him.

Now, 20% of proceeds from the sale of these beautiful prints of this painting by Alexandra Churchill are being very generously donated towards our work to protect big cats such as Cecil.

“Cecil was such a striking creature and his loss of life was a callous and thoughtless act,” says Alexandra of the male Southwest African lion, who primarily lived in the Hwange National Park in Matabelel and North, Zimbabwe and was 13 years old when he was killed.
