..and after Born Free

Menelik was just a few weeks old when he was found tied up by string in a shop in Ethiopia.  Sickly and emaciated, the baby cheetah was so ill he could hardly stand.  Luckily he was rescued and nursed back to health by Born Free at a temporary rescue centre.

Menelik now resides at Born Free’s Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Education Centre, Ensessakotteh.  Here he shares a large, natural habitat home with another rescued male cheetah, Sheba.

Named after a famous Ethiopian Emperor, today Menelik loves to bask in the Ethiopian sun and stretch his now strong hind legs sprinting around the enclosure with Sheba.

Adopters are urgently needed to fund Menelik’s daily food and care.
