The Born Free team were out in force at the first WildlifeXpo, discussing tigers and conservation volunteering with a range of visitors at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Alongside our fellow tiger conservationists at EIA and WildAid, Born Free waved the “Save Wild Tigers” banner, culminating in Born Free’s Head of Conservation, Prof Claudio Sillero, speaking at a side event chaired by Bill Oddie, informing people about how our Satpuda Landscape Tiger Programme is protecting tigers in Central India.
On another expert panel, organised by Biosphere Expeditions, Senior Programmes Officer Chris Wright offered tips to help volunteers ensure they invest their goodwill, time and effort on projects that have real benefits for conservation, whilst encouraging them to steer clear of those that can actually have negative welfare impacts for many animals.
