Out of Africa - The George Hotel, Stamford

Over 140 guests attended the Out of Africa fundraising dinner and dance in an African themed Marquee.

Setting the scene and wowing the audience was the original Simba from the West End show ‘The Lion King’, Roger Wright.

Will Travers thanked Phillippa and James Spilsbury for organizing such a special event and talked about the projects the evening’s  fundraising would go towards.  These projects included:

Our Meru Boma and de-snaring work, the Mt Elgon Elephants, Ethiopian Wolves, Hans Bauer Rangers and the building of a small cat enclosure at Ensessekotah, Ethiopia

Celebrity auctioneer and Born Free Ambassador James Lewis conducted the live auction which included unique items donated from many supporters including:

A Brian May signed guitar which sold for £5,000, “McKenna” the tiger painting by Pollyanna Pickering which raised £11,500, An elephant painting by Clare Brownlow raised £8,500 and a trip to Kenya with Will Travers raised £10,000!
