And when you come on a Born Free holiday you will be raising funds to help the animals you visit. Proceeds from every trip we organise directly support and protect wild animals in need.
KENYA SAFARI WITH KUONI ANANEA 2012
Long-term Born Free supporters, Kuoni, Britain’s best luxury travel and tour operator, have launched Ananea, a collection of environmentally responsible holidays.
We are delighted that they have chosen Born Free as a beneficiary charity and they have developed a special Kenya tour which will visit Elsa’s Kopje in Meru, our lion-proof boma building project in Amboseli, and lots more.

Shamwari and South Africa Big Cat Holiday 2012
Working with Southern Africa Travel and Shamwari there will also be special 2012 Born Free group trip to the award-winning five-star Shamwari Reserve, a chance to visit our recued big cats, meet the team, enjoy whale watching and the sights of Cape Town.

VOLUNTEER AT SHAMWARI GAME RESERVE – SOUTH AFRICA

Shamwari Game Reserve offers the ultimate placements for conservation volunteers in a malaria-free environment, working and assisting with the award winning conservation department. This project also allows participants the opportunity to work “behind the scenes” at Born Free’s big cat rescue centres situated on the reserve. If hands on exposure to African Wildlife is your dream then a conservation project at Shamwari Game Reserve will exceed your wildest expectations. The Adventure Company
Mountain Gorillas
Join The Adventure Company on a trip to Uganda, where guides will lead you through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of families of mountain gorillas. The opportunity to interact with the gorillas in their own environment can be wet, muddy and require some walking, but sitting meters away from a great silverback is always a unique and unforgettable experience. Trips also include a visit to Kimbale National Park, where the forests are dense with chimps and other primates, and game drives at Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo, where you can spot lions, elephants, zebra and wallowing hippos.
On longer trips, you will stop at the equator as you journey towards Uganda’s capital, where you will have the option to take part in activities such as rafting on the White Nile. You will also visit The Born Free Foundation’s Chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island, which provides homes for orphaned chimpanzees who were rescued from the bushmeat or pet trades. The project is supported by The Adventure Company, who donate a generous amount from each booking towards the care of these chimpanzees.
The Adventure company are also collecting money for Born Free to support the Bear Bile sanctuaries in Vietnam and China.
