Earlier this month, our team in Ethiopia collected another confiscated primate: a young male vervet called Budaloo. He was confiscated by Addis police after they saw him near the National Theatre being led down the street on a leash. Keeping primates as pets is illegal in Ethiopia and in recent months we have seen an increasing number being confiscated by the authorities.

Since his arrival at the Born Free Centre, Badaloo has been doing well and is currently undergoing quarantine. Once this is complete he will join our vervet troop and be assessed for release.
