Kanjoo School

Located near the Rhino Sanctuary in Meru National Park, Kanjoo School started working with the Born Free Kenya team in 2016.

Kenya is of historical significance to the Born Free Foundation and is the reason why Born Free Kenya was established. Born Free Kenya protects wild animals through de-snaring, wildlife monitoring and human-wildlife conflict mitigation projects, while working with communities and local partners to change attitudes and policies, working to ensure a safe and thriving future for Kenya’s magnificent wildlife.

  1. Water & sanitation (drought, pollution etc.);
  2. Human-wildlife conflict;
  3. Livestock;
  4. Illegal activities (illegal fishing practices, poaching etc.)

Key achievements in 2016/17:

  1. Supported the completion of a secondary school classroom so that the students have a space to learn both for their academic qualifications and about the wildlife and environment on their door step
