Kyriakos – hasn’t he grown!

You may have seen we are working closely with our friends at Arcturos Bear Sanctuary in Greece, as we make plans to move three little orphaned bear cubs from Georgia.

This got us thinking about our very own adopted brown bear Kyriakos and his brother Manolis, and their tough start in life. Taking a look back at their journey, we wanted to share with you this album of when they first arrived at the sanctuary – nervous but soon making new friends under expert care!

Found alone in the forests of northern Greece, it is likely their mother was killed by farmers. Fortunately not all humans were against them and they were taken in by a shepherd, who brought them to Arcturos. Too used to human company at this stage, Kyriakos and Manolis could not be returned to the wild, and so the beautiful beech forests of Arcturos became their lifelong home. I’m sure you will agree that they are very contented here!

You can help us achieve this again, providing a safe home in a natural environment for three little cubs orphaned in Georgia by supporting our appeal
