New addition to the famous EB herd in Amboseli National Park!!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

The impressive image below is of an as yet unnamed little African elephant calf born in November – the new daughter of Eudora and the great-niece of the EB herd’s famous matriarch, Echo!  You can be sure that her name will begin with ‘E’ matching all the EB herd members which include Eudora, Emily-Kate, Esprit and many others!!

The EB herd is currently enjoying the new grass of Amboseli National Park which is located in the foothills of Mount Kilimajaro.  Born Free helps to fund the Amboseli Elephant Research Project, the longest running study of elephants in Africa, and Cynthia Moss who began this research in 1973 passed Born Free this photo which I was keen to show you all.

Blogging off,

p.s. You can adopt one of the EB herd for yourself or for a loved one as a Christmas present!  Just visit http://www.bornfree.org.uk/give/adopt-an-animal/african-elephant/
