Born Free Foundation - Keep Wildlife in the Wild

Six of the eight species of bears are endangered.  There are thought to be as few as 10,000 sloth bears.  The IUCN¹ Red List, which lists all rare species, classes the sloth bear as ‘vulnerable’.  This means the species ‘faces a high risk of extinction in the wild in the near future’.
