Painted dogs like all canid species are intelligent, highly social and wide-ranging and can suffer particularly badly in captivity.  Dogs and wolves in zoos can display abnormal behaviours, such as pacing to and fro or remaining curled in a corner.  Born Free campaigns to end the confinement and exploitation of canid dogs and all wild animals for ‘entertainment’.
