Chimpanzees, like all great apes, are extremely intelligent and highly sentient and can suffer particularly badly in captivity.  Born Free campaigns to end the confinement of great apes and all wild animals for ‘entertainment’.  Working with other animal organisations Born Free takes action to prevent the global trade in wild-caught great ape infants – chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans - for the captivity industry.
