Born Free Foundation - Keep Wildlife in the Wild

Born Free supports the long-term care of Asian and African elephants rescued from lives of misery in zoos and circuses, at the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary, USA.  Zoo and circus elephants lead frustrating, unnatural lives, and many of the elephants had been chained most of the time and kept in isolation.  The Sanctuary provides a haven for old, sick or needy elephants in a setting of green pastures, forests, spring-fed ponds and a heated barn.  The Sanctuary also provides education about the crisis facing these social, sensitive, complex, exceedingly intelligent and endangered creatures.
